Hero has partnered with SignatureRx to enable private prescribing directly from your Hero account. Relevant prescriptions are pulled directly from EMIS and sent out via Hero, enabling practices to administer prescriptions seamlessly. Patients can then collect their prescriptions from any UK pharmacy using the code they received.
What is EMIS Web and Hero Health?
EMIS Web is the UK’s #1 electronic health record, used by 4,000+ NHS and private GP practices. Hero Health is a patient engagement platform for NHS and private GP services. Hero facilitates online booking, patient communication, triage, invoicing & private electronic prescribing for EMIS Web users. Private GPs can use Hero alongside EMIS to run their private general practice service.
Who can use the EMIS Web – SignatureRx integration?
SignatureRx is made available to EMIS users through Hero’s EMIS integration. This allows medications to be issued in EMIS Web, before being sent to patients or pharmacies through SignatureRx.
How to issue a prescription in EMIS Web:
In EMIS, prescribers can issue prescriptions either within a consultation, or directly through the Medication tab within the patient record. By issuing in EMIS Web, clinicians benefit from EMIS market leading drug interaction alerts and drug database.
Step #1 – Add a drug
Select a drug
Add a dosage and quantity
Review alerts
Tick ‘Private’ if dispensing privately
Issue
Step #2 – Issue the prescription
Review and approve
Choose whether to Print or Store
How to send this through SignatureRx:
Once the prescription has been issued in EMIS, the medication can be retrieved and sent via SignatureRx. This can be done either via Hero’s EMIS toolbar, or within the Hero browser itself.
Step by step guide:
Select the ‘Rx’ option – The selected patient is automatically detected
Select ‘Retrieve from EMIS’
Select and add the issued medication
The prescriber enters their PIN to issue the medication
Once sent via SignatureRx, the prescription can be collected by the patient at any pharmacy across the UK by showing their code or patients can be sent their prescriptions via post.
