Learn how to create and issue a new prescription for a patient. This guide covers adding new patients, applying templates, and managing prescription items for both collection and delivery.

Log into your Signature Rx Portal

Begin to type the medicine name, as you type you will see a dropdown box of relevant options

In the quantity field you can enter numbers and words as required.
For example you may want to write number of devices (for example: 1 inhaler)

To add more items to your prescription click "Add new" and fill out the respective fields of your new item

1. How do I start a new prescription?

Answer: From the Prescriptions tab, click "Add New Prescription".

Log into your SignatureRx portal; click "Prescriptions"; click "Add New Prescription"; select an existing patient or add a new one and fill out their details.

2. How do I add medication items?

Answer: Click "Add New" and fill in the medicine details.

  • Type the medicine name and select it from the dropdown, including dosage and formulation
  • Enter dosage instructions and quantity (numbers and words can both be used, e.g. "1 inhaler")
  • Click "Add New" again to add further items to the same prescription
  • Alternatively, load a pre-prepared template for common treatment plans
  • Add any Prescription Notes for the pharmacy in the notes field

3. How do I choose Collection or Delivery and issue the prescription?

Answer: Select the issue type, then sign with your secure PIN.

Choose "Collection" (the patient collects from any pharmacy nationwide) or "Delivery" (sent via Signature Pharmacy). Enter your 6-digit secure PIN and click "Sign & Issue" to complete the prescription.
