Why Do I Need to Pay for My Prescription?

All prescriptions issued through SignatureRx are private, which means the NHS does not subsidise them.

When you collect your medication, the pharmacy will charge you the price of the medicine plus a dispensing fee. Sometimes this may be cheaper than the standard NHS charge, and other times it may be more.

NHS Exemptions Do Not Apply

Because these prescriptions are private, pre-payment certificates and other NHS exemptions cannot be used for SignatureRx prescriptions at any pharmacy.

Using Private Insurance

Some private insurance plans may cover medication costs. If your policy does, you can usually claim reimbursement. You’ll typically need a receipt showing:
  1. The medication issued
  1. Price paid
  1. Date of issue
  1. Pharmacy details
We recommend checking with your insurance provider before paying for your prescription to confirm coverage and their requirements.

No Additional Charges from SignatureRx

SignatureRx does not take any commission or charge pharmacies for dispensing prescriptions. You only pay the pharmacy for your medication and dispensing fee.
