Learn how to get started with SignatureRx, an advanced electronic private prescription platform designed for clinicians and telemedicine providers.
SignatureRx allows prescribers to issue secure, paperless private prescriptions and send them directly to pharmacies across the UK or for home delivery.
The platform is designed to:
- Save time (no printing, signing, or posting prescriptions)
- Improve efficiency for clinics and telemedicine providers
- Provide a secure, compliant prescribing workflow
How SignatureRx Works
- Prescribers generate prescriptions digitally using an advanced electronic signature that meets regulatory standards under the Human Medicine's Regulation 2012
- Each prescription is assigned a unique Prescription ID, securely shared with the patient
- Patients can present this Prescription ID at any GPhC-registered pharmacy across the UK or opt for delivery from our online pharmacy, Signature Pharmacy
- Once a prescription has been dispensed and marked accordingly, it cannot be reused or redeemed elsewhere
Controlled Drugs (FP10CD Requirements)
Important:
If the prescription is for a Controlled Drug (FP10CD), additional requirements apply.
- The prescription for Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 controlled drugs must be printed onto FP10CD private prescriptions obtained from NHS, and they must have a wet signature by the prescriber
- The pharmacy must receive the original physical prescription before dispensing
- Digital-only prescriptions are not sufficient for these medications
What This Means for Prescribers
- You may still create the prescription via SignatureRx
- However, you must ensure the original printed prescription is provided
- The pharmacy can not legally dispense without the required paper copy for all schedule 2 and 3 controlled drugs
Cost of Using SignatureRx
SignatureRx operates on a credit-based system:
- Prescriptions are issued using tokens (credits)
- Each prescription typically costs around £1 + VAT
This makes it a cost-effective alternative to traditional paper prescribing.
